چکیده
Digitalization and additive manufacturing offer new possibilities in the of individualized medical dental products. In paper we present results first 30 consecutive growing patients (15 males 15 females), with a mean age 13.69 years (SD = 1.26), who were treated for mandibular retrognathia (skeletal Class II malocclusion), using fixed sagittal guidance (FSG) appliance, individually manufactured by selective laser melting (SLM). Lateral cephalometric radiographs taken before (T0) after (T1) treatment detailed analysis was performed. special focus on time period malocclusion correction. The analyzed data compared control group (CG; intermaxillary elastics) that matched pretreatment measurements. Both methods effective correction malocclusion, but significantly shorter (16.03 ± 1.09 months vs. 20.65 4.12 months) FSG appliance. After visual skeletal dentoalveolar effects achieved, statistically significant differences measured incisors inclination (0.45° 2.84° CG) distance (−0.61 mm 0.13 CG), molar (−1.07° 1.18° overbite (−3.82 −2.46 all favor final 16.03 months, (SNB angle, SNPg length (CoGn) consequently decrease ANB angle) as well vertical (lower anterior facial height (LAFH) gonial measurements noted, no reported complications. As needed comparable reports traditional use functional appliance cosmetical changes remained stable 2-year observational period, could benefit this type treatment. from

Modeling of selective laser sintering/selective laser melting
Selective laser sintering and selective laser melting are powder based additive manufacturing (AM) process that can rapidly manufacture parts with comparable mechanical properties to conventional manufacturing methods directly from digital files. However, the processing recipe development and design optimization of AM parts are often based on trial and error which erodes the benefit of AM. Mode...
متن کاملCorrection of Mandibular Retrognathia and Laterognathia by Distraction Osteogenesis: Follow up of 5 cases
This article evaluates the use of distraction osteogenesis in the treatment of mandibular retrognathia and laterognathia and the long term treatment results of the patients treated with this technique. The procedure was carried out in 5 subjects (3 males and 2 females, mean age 18.4 years) aged between 14 years and 27 years. In patients treated with bilateral mandibular distraction, it was obse...
متن کاملRotational Distraction for the Treatment of Severe Mandibular Retrognathia
BACKGROUNDS The main problem with intraoral distraction of the mandible is the inability to achieve the three-dimensional mandibular correction as planned preoperatively. We developed a technique that allows spontaneous changes in the direction of mandibular elongation using an intraoral distractor. METHODS After mandibular osteotomy, the distractor is fixed to the distal segment of the mandi...
